# Overview

Vehicle Checks is **MICHELIN Connected Fleets** digital solution for managing daily vehicle walkaround inspections, defect reporting, and compliance records across a fleet.

For all fleets, regular vehicle inspections are a proven best practice, helping to reduce breakdowns, improve safety, and maintain roadworthiness.  In regulated fleets, a pre departure vehicle safety check is a legal requirement.

Traditionally this is done on paper, creating delays, lost records, and no real-time visibility when defects are found.  Vehicle Checks replaces this with a **fully digital workflow** that connects drivers, vehicles, and maintenance teams.

Using the SmarterDriver mobile app, drivers select a vehicle, complete a checklist, confirm items are in good condition or report defects, attach photos, and submit the inspection.  Managers then see the results instantly in the **MyConnectedFleet platform**, where defects can be tracked through to resolution and every action is recorded for audit and compliance purposes.

Checklists can be customised to suite any operation, vehicle type or workflow.
